11 second club wip - breakdown pass 2
Here is my current work in progress.
I made a lot of mistakes in this pass. There are a lot of things that are not working. I tried splining it out and it looks very even. The action is not broken up into pieces. Everything moves together. I need to break down individual limbs and joins.
I've been going about breaking down using the tween machine often but I feel it would be smarter and probably better to breakdown with a linear spline. Using that to choose where the arc goes instead of using the tween machine.
I still have a lot of work to do on this piece only a few more things to go.
Cheers!

Highlander!
Austin Madison's CHADES challenge is something I always mean to enter and then don't.
Here's an attempt at adding some effects to it. I still like the original up there much better! But figured posting it would be good to get critiques.
Here's my original rough.
Cheers!
11 Second Club WIP - Breakdown Pass 1
Here's my progress on the 11 second club shot.
I've finished my first breakdown pass. So satisfying filling those gaps in. I've started feeling CG animation as more 2D animation I'm using the computer to make my virtual 'drawings.' I think I'm starting to get a hang of this.
Cheers!

11 Second Club WIP - KEYS
As a challenge to myself, I've decided to enter the 11 second club character animation competition every month this summer.
I approached this shot very differently from how I usually animate. You know, the right way. I started by listening to the dialogue, acting the shot out, thumb nailing the key poses, and then finally taking them to Maya.
I would highly suggest this method to anyone that wants to do CG animation. I didn't do it before because it was a lot of work and I just wanted to jump right into animating(also known as lazy). But these extra steps led to some of the strongest poses I feel I've ever built in Maya.
I'll be posting my progress here for my education and possibly yours. Here are my keys almost finished.
Cheers!
